Nokia 5800 XpressMusic’s speaker is defective?
It has been rumored for a few days now that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will be discarded, because of a hardware issue. Today, the Russians from mobile-review have published a rather interesting article on that topic, in which they even cite an official company source. According to it, the model has a defective speaker – it begins to crackle and to sound unclear, which is said to be caused by the humidity. When the Finns have realized about it, they have sent an official from the company’s Research & Development unit in order to check things out.

It has been concluded that there is indeed a problem with the speaker, which is present in a lot of units and as a result, the company has changed the manufacturer of the speakers. However, all units that have been manufactured before January 2009 will most probably suffer from the same issue, which makes it interesting to see whether the U.S. version of the device will avoid it.

Nokia’s PR agent for Europe and Asia, Victoria Eremina, has said to the colleagues from Russia that the problem has been solved and every defective phone will be fixed in the manufacturer’s service centers for free, where the speaker can be changed. We hope that there won’t be too many users to encounter this issue.

If you have encountered this unpleasant issue, feel free to share your experience in the comments section.
