New iWatch rumors: circular shape, slimmer than Moto 360, production to start in July or August

New iWatch rumors: circular shape, slimmer than Moto 360, production to start in July or August
Rosenblatt Securities analyst Brian Blair has returned from Taiwan with a fresh pack of iWatch rumors from his supply chain sources. According to this, Apple's timepiece will have a circular shape, just like the Moto 360. However, the iWatch will have a slimmer profile, and if we know Apple's design and engineering teams, they'll be making sure the device is as thin and elegant as they can possibly make it.

Additionally, Blair claims the iWatch will move into production sometime in July or August. Apple might be looking at 18 to 21 million units for the second half of 2014, which is quite serious for a wearable and means Cupertino is confident in its success. There will be models of the iWatch for males and females, but there are no details on the differences between the two.

Other recent iWatch rumors point at a WWDC reveal, which doesn't seem too soon considering the device will start production in a month or two. We're definitely curious whether Apple will show the world its timepiece on June 2nd.

The moto 360 is suppose to be out in July. Apple is trying to get out there before Motorola.

I gotta give Moto credit for a nice watch, but they may have shot themselves in the foot. The general public. Knows nothing about it, only tech heads. All ape has to do is announce their watch and it will be on every news outlet in the world. Moto should have launched theirs already.

I agree... and sadly many great companies are lacking just that... Good Marketing and Market Coverage... So a great product without marketing, and coverage will remain buried

Apple no doubt has the greatest marketing team in the world. How else can one explain such a iCult following. Apple makes iPad, iPhone, iPod which are basically the same product of different sizes and Mac, that's it, basically 2 products! And somehow they convince their devoted 75 million or so fan base to have bought 700 million iDevices over the last 7-10 years. Incremental differences, thousands of dollars spent on same S hit, different year, unbelievable really

I have a feeling iWatch will be awesome. If the rumored health sensors are included and it's round (moto 360 is the only smartwatch that even slightly caught my attention) iMAY OWN A APPLE PRODUCT FOR THE FiRST TiME EVER!i!

You guys just keep hitting yourselves in the head over marketing. What if it's NOT marketing? You can only do so much to get your devices out there but if they suck they just...well, suck. Companies have a hard time being Apple because they are not consistent and their designs fall short. Funny enough, they've also started to do the same thing but without making any difference. You can't just walk in and say "hey, look I can make this," you have to earn that respect. Apple's got it, others should too.

That's like saying Samsung makes the same product because they make a Galaxy Tab and a Galaxy phone! LOL So if Apple has a Cult, Samsung its its #1 immitators. If you know anything about the history of Apple when Steve Jobs re-joined Apple he consolidated the most useful devices and got rid of the rest of the stuf to focus the marketing campaigns - A brilliant move. Second, an iPad is not technically an iPhone, it makes calls, and technically an iPod wasn't an iPhone until Apple merged the two. Also not all "Macs" are the same. The Macbook Air is not a "Macbook Pro" I would never use that for my studio work that is very memory intenive and requires lots of disk space and processing power, second, there is also the "Mac Pro" line which has the sickest destok computers out there unles you frankenstein yourself a PC. Of course the newest Mac Pro is 'out there' literally a computer from the futre and I can only think of it like a mini-server or a super computer that fits in my desk. Its really nice and the cooling system is great and the quietness is perfect for recording music in a small studio environment or for radio broadcasts.

But Apple is on the news a lot simply because they are Apple. News outlets love to cover anything they do. Motorola on the other hand is just one of many Android handset makers. Still though, I think that if Android wear is really a unique product with rich set of features, then the product will sell itself once people see it for themselves out on the streets.

Apple has earned that respect first by revolutionizing the way we listen to music instead of carrying CD players they invented the iPod, then EVERYONE followed suit and made their own cheaper, less cool version of it, THEN they took this immensely popular device added a phone and Safari into it and bam u had an "iPhone" then everyoen followed suit and copied them. They might be late on wearable technology, but you bet they will get news coverage for their product because Motorola wont make "news" because they have put out sh**t products so many years they just don't have that mystique Apple has craeted for ITSELF. Its like saying you should get in the Cover of Rolling stones cuz you play guitar and not someone like Slash who's earned his keep in the industry.

I will have to agree with you, though your Rolling Stones example infuriates me... all you have to do to get on the cover of that trash magazine is blow a bunch of marathon runners up.

Smart homes and smart watches, Sounds like Apple actually has something interesting to show the public this year. Hopefully their watch is something different than what Google has in store, I'd be disappointed if it's just more of the same. Looking forward to the Moto 360!

Moto 360 does look great but apple will out do them in the style dept iHave a feeling

Style is subjective. I personally think iOS is ugly, while others think it's beautiful. Though I do like round screens with little to no bezel. Hopefully next week Apple has more to show off than just an updated phone and tablet.

I meant the hardware, i am looking to iWatch for two possible reasons, I am looking for that health monitor band or watch that outdoes them all (rumored in iWatch) and two, circular style that looks like a regular watch with the added benefit of interchangeable watch faces (Tag one day, Rolex style the next :) So I feel that Apple will make a elegant looking watch hardware wise and as long as it does all the health stuff, iMay with a Apple product for the first time ever

Coca Cola has a trademark on their multiple bottle shapes.. yes bottle shapes...

25. Droidrapist

Cocacola can trademark bottle shapes because they sell a black liquid that can be copyied easily so the only thing that identifies their brand is their logos and cotainers... so that makes total sense. Especially when the shape of the bottles is literally used as a logo as well, for example the white bottle with red background - you instantly know what soda that is without having to read what it is. A soda company making the same bottle shapes selling soda would be engaging in brand dilution, only company I can think of that can get away with that kind of blatant stealing is Samsung xD

Circular watches have existed for centuries, that's like Firestone "copyrighting"round tires. BTW its called a "patent" a copyright is for creative composition while a patent is for inventions....

Thought they burry the hatchet. and the watch suppose to have FLEXIBLE OLED. now copying APPLE couldn't sink any lower than that. at least the 360 will be cheaper than the iWatch

Have you even seen a watch before??? Last time I checked 90% of them were circular and have been for centuries. Sun dials are circular too

Google and/or Apple needs to come out with some sort of watch face editor/designer software. It would be awesome to design your own watch face or download others. That alone would really help sales.

I dunno, big huge watches are all the rage. Moto360's size might be to its benefit.
