New i-mate QWERTY Pocket PC phone - the JAQ
The i-mate JAQ is based on the Inventec Mercury but a few specs and features are different, as well as the design. The device is a quad-band GSM/EDGE one and runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition. However, it has no Wi-Fi support unlike the Mercury. The display is landscape-positioned QVGA touch-screen and 1.3 megapixel camera. Also the JAQ features 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM, but runs on a 200MHz processor, which a bit poor for current Pocket PC standards. Having in mind this and the bulky and plain design, it's hard to say it may be threat to Samsung's i320, Moto Q or the HTC Excalibur, but it runs on the more advanced Pocket PC OS instead on the Smartphone edition like the other three.
