New Xiaomi Mi 5 press renders are dressed in various colors, match previous leak

New Xiaomi Mi 5 press renders are dressed in various colors, match previous leak
On Thursday, we showed you a leaked picture that was characterized as the "real" Xiaomi Mi 5. As it turns out, that might very well have been a legitimate leak. New press renders that surfaced today claim to show the Xiaomi Mi 5 in various colors, and the phones appear to match the image of the Mi 5 that we showed you the other day.

According to the latest speculation, we expect to see a 5.2-inch display on the new flagship. Some are calling for a 1440 x 2560 resolution, while others expect a 1080 x 1920 display. Either way, the Snapdragon 820 SoC should be under the hood, with a quad-core CPU and the Adreno 530 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside, along with 16GB/64GB of native storage. A fingerprint scanner is embedded inside the home button.

A 16MP camera will be adorning the back of the phone, while an 8MP front-facing snapper handles selfies and video chats. The generator keeps humming thanks to the 3030mAh battery inside. The phone is expected to be priced at 1999 Yuan, which works out to $309 USD.

We could see a larger Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus unveiled at the same time as the Mi 5 is. This model will offer a larger 5.5 or 5.7-inch screen, carrying a 1440 x 2560 resolution. Once again, the Snapdragon 820 chipset is under the hood. 4GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage is included. We once again should see a rear-facing 16MP camera, with a front-facing 8MP snapper. This phone also will have a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button, and will be priced at 2500 Yuan or $387 USD.

Unfortunately, this looks like the real deal. Absolutely hideous, and doesn't even try to hide the fact that it's a complete copy of the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6...

Good looking seriously. Better than those hardware navigation keys which xiaomi had previously which sucks. I like the Samsung style navigation keys . Cool.

Yeah but Sony phones are a lot more rectangular, so they look quite a bit different.

I hope its fake. Back looks like Mi Note and front just like that only with HTC/Samsung styled fingerprint sensor. Note 3 looks much better

Hands on video + HD press renders (the same set but from original source, not TimesNews suckers...) http://www.nowhereelse.fr/video-xiaomi-mi5-photos-presse-couleurs-111587/

At press renders corners is more rounded, top bezel proportionally seems larger, black borders seems slimmer, front camera seems closer to the earpiece. Overall looks to me the phone at the video is Mi Note.

nope, mi note has notification led above the speaker. it is on the side on this one, as shown in renders

IMO renders and video presents clearly different phones. Also you could point out that Mi Note doesn't have a fingerprint scanner at the bottom. Seems to me that video picked because phone sits on a platform and doesn't move. It should be more suitable to manipulation.

Original leakers are almost never credited by phonearena because they always get their informations from cheap websites that never link back to the real sources...
