Netflix for Android gets update to speed up navigation
Back in the Spring of 2011, Netflix finally added its app to what was then called the Android Market. More than two years later, after a series of updates, Android users now have a smoother Netflix app that makes navigating the shelves a lot easier. The new update mostly has to do with feel. The old app would occasionally leave you wondering whether or not you really wanted to fight the UI to see the next episode of Orange Is the New Black. Thankfully, the show was worth the effort. After the latest update, lags should be a thing of the past.

Besides the smooth scrolling, Netflix added the popular three line hamburger navigation icon on the top left with the three dot overflow menu button on the top right. The update to version 3.0 is rolling out in waves, so you will need to be patient. If it hasn't arrived yet for your phone, it will soon. Netflix has generally been the beneficiary of the ending of big time dramas this year like Breaking Bad and Dexter. New viewers to those shows would find themselves catching up with past seasons by watching them on the app. In addition, Netflix has started filming its own content and has a big hit on its hands with the aforementioned Orange Is the New Black, which takes place in a woman's prison.
