Motorola announces what smartphones will receive Android 9 Pie updates
Motorola didn't want to say what smartphones will receive Android 9 Pie updates and when, but promised to come up with new information when it decides on a roadmap. Fortunately, Motorola fans didn't have to wait too long to learn whether or not their devices will receive the highly-anticipated update.

Without further ado, here are all the smartphones that Motorola promised to update to Android 9 Pie in the coming months: Moto Z3, Moto Z3 Play, Moto Z2 Force Edition, Moto Z2 Play, Moto X4, Moto G6 Plus, Moto G6, and Moto G6 Play.

It's true that Motorola doesn't really say when exactly these smartphones will receive Android 9 Pie updates, but it does mention that rollouts should begin “this fall.” Also, the US company states that these updates are specific by country or carrier, so some may receive it later than others.

As far as the changes go, you shouldn't expect anything out of the ordinary to be included in Motorola's Android Pie updates. New Intuitive Navigation and Recent App, an improved Do Not Disturb mode, a colorful settings menu, longer battery life, and revamped split-screen are among the most important changes included in the Android Pie update offered by Motorola.

I’d like Pie on my e5 play though it’s a backup device. I miss the old Motorola.
