Considering to switch to a carrier outside the big four? MetroPCS has just rolled out visual voice mail
giving you a solid reason to consider the regional carrier, which was also the first one to launch an LTE network in the country. While customers on other carriers like AT&T have been enjoying the ability to visually browse voice mails with device like the iPhone, MetroPCS rolls the feature across a number of devices. It also provides users with Visual Voice Mail Plus
– a feature which gives you text transcriptions
of voice messages along with the option to answer back via an SMS, MMS and/or email as well as the standard call back.
Initially, MetroPCS' visual voice mail is available on the Samsung Galaxy Indulge
, the LG Optimus M
, the Huawei Ascend
and the Huawei Ascend Sanctioned by TapouT. Support for the RIM Blackberry Curve 8530
and BREW-based handset is coming soon
You have to sign up for plans starting at $45 for non-4G handsets and $50 for 4G handsets to be able to use the feature. Finally, Visual Voice Mail Plus runs at an additional $5
on top of each plan.
