Meizu's unique "holeless" phone is priced at $1299 on Indiegogo

UPDATE:Meizu has informed us that the Zero will work with GSM carriers AT&T and T-Mobile on 4G-LTE bands 2 and 5. Keep in mind that eSIM support is critical.

Overall, Meizu is seeking to raise $100,000, and with 31 days left in the campaign, it has been able to meet 14% of the goal. That works out to $14,690 raised thus far. Typically, a project needs to meet the target fund raising goal in order for the company to receive the money raised.

If you're curious about this device, it is comprised of what Meizu calls a "3D ceramic unibody." The Zero is equipped with a 6-inch AMOLED screen full-screen display, with the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform under the hood. On back is a dual camera set up (12MP + 20 MP) with both cameras employing Sony sensors.

We can also tell you that since there are no ports, the zero uses a wireless charger that comes with the phone right out of the box. At 18W, the "Super mCharge Wireless" system offers the fastest wireless charging capability on a smartphone to date. There is an in-screen sound system, facial recognition and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Users will be able to control the phone using virtual buttons on the side of the handset. An eSIM is placed inside the unit to eliminate the need for a SIM slot. The unit supports Bluetooth 5.0, and carries an IP68 rating. This means that the phone is protected from dust, and can be submerged in nearly 5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. There is a one year warranty included, although that most likely will not cover water damage.

While the Indiegogo listing says that Meizu will ship the Zero worldwide, it isn't clear which U.S. carriers support the phone, if any. We have requested some more information from Meizu, and once we get a response we will update this story.
