Meizu Pro 5 Mini to feature MediaTek's deca-core CPU?

Back in September, the Meizu Pro 5 was introduced by the company. Featuring a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, the handset is powered by the Exynos 7420 chipset. Yup, that's the same SoC that you'll find inside the Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Now, Meizu is apparently going to offer a Pro 5 Mini, and the big news is that it just might be equipped with MediaTek's Helio X20 chipset.

According to a report published today, the Meizu Pro 5 Mini will be driven by the MT6797 SoC, which includes a deca-core CPU. Additionally, the phone is said to carry a 4.7-inch screen, with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. It will be offered with 32GB and 64GB of internal storage, priced at the equivalent of $315 USD and $394 USD respectively. It also will feature a metal build, like the full-sized Pro 5.

Unfortunately, we don't have any other specs to throw at you for now. But there are quite a few things to look forward to down the road, such as benchmark tests, TENAA certification and more. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the tip!

Everything with the shape of an HTC Desire and metal unibody with antenna lines look like an iPhone right? Oops

it's not just shape, metal unibody, and antenna lines. look at the button shapes, connector port, headset jack, speaker grills, mic, side curves etc. and not to mention one physical home button is not Android appropriate navigation. summary, it looks exactly like the iphone.

looks very similar, but not exactly. there are still "minor" differences.

if you handed this to me faced up, I'd say an iPhone knock off, sides, side buttons and everything... they only thing giving it away is the samsung home button. The rear does not look like iphone but exactly like some android phone...

X20 in the compact version of their flagship? Not bad. X20 will certainly steamroll over the 7420 though, that is if early leaked benchmarks are accurate.

Yep in CPU, not sure about GPU tho. Hopefully they put T880MP8.

It is MP4, but no "true" confirmation yet.

If Only That Was True. The X20 Is Using The MP4 Version Of The Mail-T880. The E7420 Is The Better All Around Soc Cause It Can Handle Anything You Throw At It, Unlike The T880 MP4 The T760 MP8 Won't Have A Problem Playing Demanding Games.

How many people play 'demanding' games on their phones? And of those, how many are using $315 phones? I bet the number is startlingly close to 0.

Im sorry but the galaxy S6 trumps this phone... knowimg meizu, the camera is gonna be complete trash, the screen id way worse, the software terrible and the battery life not so good. Then again, its way cheaper.

their low-end $160 M2 Note has a quite good camera. i'd take this meizu over S6/Note 5 anyday.

What's the sense of "super-duper-ultra-SoC" then? Ahh, I forgot. You buy a phone to run benchmarks on it.
