Meijer puts the iPad 2 on sale, will make a splendid Valentine's day gift
If you have been waiting for the right moment to grab an iPad 2 on the cheap, now could be your chance. Regional big-box retailer Meijer has slashed the price of all iPad 2 models that it offers. Currently, the entry-level Wi-Fi-only model with 16 gigs of on-board storage is priced at $429, which is $70 off its retail price. Additionally, Smart Covers are on sale too running for $35 apiece.

Now for the fine print: the deal is available in Meijer stores only, which means that if you are not located near one, you are pretty much out of luck. Also, online ads suggest that the deal will be valid through February 25, although regional listings have the offer expiring on February 18. Having that in mind, it is advisable to not wait until the very last moment if you want to take advantage of the iPad 2 sale. Calling your local Meijer store in advance just to confirm that they are not out of stock would be a good idea as well.

The iPad 2 discount that Meijer is offering may not be as sharp as that recent one at TJ Maxx, but it is still tempting nonetheless. It is speculated that the retailer is clearing out its iPad 2 inventories as the iPad 3 is nearing release. Rumor has it, that the iPad 3 will be announced no later than next month, which adds a fair deal of credibility to that theory.
