Typically, newcomers are svelte and hungry to impress, learning from the mistakes of their predecessors, and Maze was no exception with its first Alpha handset, jumping directly onto the bezel-less bandwagon with one very affordable phone. Now, the second iteration, the Alpha X, is more powerful and more refined in terms of design, as all sequels should be, but keeps the low price tag.

First off, the phone boasts the 5.99" LG panel that Xiaomi equipped its Mi Mix 2 with, with the raging 1:2 aspect ratio that makes the phone a tad narrower and taller than its predecessor. Being a Full HD screen, it promises much better battery life than a phone with Quad HD screen at the same battery capacity, and is of the LCD variety, so dramas with burn-in or blue off-angle tints needn't apply. If you had doubts about the phone's battery life prowess, Maze went at length to dissipate them, packing a 3900 mAh unit in the glass sandwich body with Gorilla Glass 5, and 4th generation on the back. The frame is made of ion-plated zinc alloy, and the handset comes in a variety of colors like blue, black and silver, complete with a finger scanner at the front to boot.

Under the hood, the Maze Alpha X is powered by an octa-core Helio P25 chipset based on a 16 nm process which measures up to today's midrange Snapdragons. The phone offers no less than 6GB RAM, and 64GB or 128GB storage models, which, surprisingly, differ in their main camera resolution, too. While the 64 GB version has a 13 MP shooter with Sony IMX258 sensor, the 128GB variant will ship in a few days with a 16MP one, go figure.

The reason for showcasing the virtues of the Maze Alpha X is that the device just went on a presale at just $209.99 at the source link below, so if you are interested to test out a well-equipped "all-screen" handset that will work on most GSM carriers, check it out.
