Latest Halloween update leapfrogs Pokemon GO to number 1 top-grossing iOS app in the U.S.

Niantic's Pokemon GO was the top-grossing iOS app in many countries in the first week after its release. However, the game dropped 9 places and last week it was reportedly on number 10 spot in the top-grossing charts in the United States.

And then Halloween happened, and Niantic is winning big once again. Following the latest Halloween event update the developers announced earlier this week, Pokemon GO regained the lost ground and managed to climb back on top of the iPhone top-grossing charts in the United States.

The Pokemon GO Halloween event that everyone is crazy about will run through November 1, so there's plenty of time to catch those spooky Pokemon or ghosts, and win even more candies than usual.

The move is quite interesting since Niantic didn't actually push any updates, instead it made use of assets that were already available in the game. This means that we can expect these kind of events to continue to be announced at special occasions.

Pokemon GO is one of the most popular mobile games with millions of fans around the world. A special accessory called Pokemon GO Plus accessory was launched last month further increase the developer's revenue, and help game addicts hunt Pokemon much easier.

With the holiday season upon us, we have no doubt that developer Niantic will have quite a few nice surprises under its sleeve, so we'll be watching closely for any rumors about future events. Until then, good hunting.
