LG Nexus 5X leaks out in 'tennis court mint' chassis color

LG Nexus 5X leaks out in 'tennis court mint' chassis color
It's been another whole day without a new Nexus leak, but the rumor mill is quick to the rescue with another purported image of the third LG-made Nexus 5X addition to Google's phone brand stable.

We can see a mint version of the phone now (or maybe it's the white one under funky lighting), which is a breath of fresh air after the latest renders of the white variation. In fact, the source says the color resembles a "Tennis court mint," so this might indeed be a totally different hue from the ones we've seen so far.

The rumored Nexus 5X specs are a 5.2" 1080p LCD display, a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, clocked at 1.8 GHz maximums, and paired with an LTE Cat. 6 cellular modem, as well as 2 GB of RAM, and 32/64 GB of internal storage. The rear camera is listed as 12.3 MP, which will likely be branded as a 13 MP shooter, and a 5 MP selfie snapper is allegedly placed at the front. The only ho-hum endeavor is the 2700 mAh juicer, but Nexus phones have rarely been excellent in terms of battery life, so there you go.

Google's event on September 29th is the next one to look forward to this month, so September is already shaping up to be the richest in great phone announcements for the year so far - the more, the merrier.

Nexus will compete with Motorola X models and leave the flagship fight to Apple & Samsung.

But but but I wanna flagship with stock Android :c I might jump to Apple when the iPhone 7 Plus comes out, and if the specs are bumped up with smaller bezels, too

You're right. Google should make a premium nexus, too.

It's annoying that they are leaving the Apple alternatives in other OEM's hands. They go on about their OS at all Google events, but no one gets to experience the OS properly because no one wants the only phones that it is truly on.

You know... google is a software company. You can have a GPE phone.

THIS. I have been waiting and skipping other flagships in favor of the nexus. Currently a Z3 owner and I need that premium feel. I converted a couple of Apple guys to get the sony flagships and they couldn't agree more that the Sony is the OEM that does premium outside of Apple. This only leaves me to wait on the HTC flagship 2016. Damn! Or I might just get the white Z5 compact.

What I don't understand is why they didn't let Motorola build a 2nd Nexus instead of going back to LG or Huawei. A moto Nexus in the chasis of the 2013 Moto X with today specs would have been a killer of a device. Especially with Motorola's improved camera.

Maybe LG outbid them. Or they submitted a better design. LG is better vertically-integrated than Moto, and they established a good relationship with the N4 and N5.

Then grab a Huawei Nexus.

That Huawei Nexus that has leaked is fugly. I've owned every Nexus phone, and I can say that I wouldn't own that ugly Huawei POS for any reason short of it coming with the SD820.

I'm kind of dissapointed by the 2gb ram but if someone can explain why it doesn't matter I might by it. My s5 running cm12.1 is getting old and needs to be replaced by the lg nexus of huawei nexus.

If your S5 runs fast with buggy CM12.1, then you will love pure stock on a Nexus. It will 100% be without lag with just 2GB. Except when you get around 10% battery... Some reason it just starts throttling even without battery saver on.

Because most phones don't need a huge amount. The OS takes up some and the rest is apps. So unless you like apps lingering around in ram taking up space and battery, the only use is multitasking. And even then certain things will get cleared out. Just remember Halo 4 made due with 512MB of RAM to work with. Running a 13yr old chip that is starting to be matched by todays phones in terms of power. Considering most companies will never use that much ram unless their games are poorly coded at this point it all comes down to multitasking.

LOL. Remember the Blue or Brown that took over the internet? Maybe this time Nexus 5X will be the same.... is it WHITE or TENNIS COURT MINT?

"...but Nexus phones have rarely been excellent in terms of battery life."... And I could add "or camera." SMH! Why don't they? Why won't they?

True. Google is out to shame LG & Huawei by releasing these models. They have nothing to lose as every other manufacturer except Apple are embracing Android. The Camera on the LG Nexus 5X seems to be s**t and with Snapdragon 808 & 2700 mAh battery, this may not be having anything to write much about the battery life. LG is already feeling the punch due to the lower than expected reception for LG G4 and is going to get some unnecessary bad word of mouth for this nexus 5X. And for the Huawei Nexus model, the hump is going to ruin everything good about it. I guess Samsung smartly stays away from the Nexus line.

Sounds like the phone should cost no more than $300. The $400 moto pure has better specs minus the fingerprint reader. It better not cost $350.

I still do not understand why this had more bezel than Nexus 6...

To me, it just looks like a bad photo of a white phone. There's some blue/green in the coloring, but that just looks like a funky picture.

Why is 2015 so disappointing. The note 5 is the only phone I like....yet no 128gb model..

My current nexus has 2 gigs ram, and it's not enough. Sorry, but it's true. The recent apps look open until you return to an app and feel it's getting reloaded rather than simply unfrozen.
