Huawei plans on pre-installing Opera Mobile 10 on its handsets
Although we tend not to see as many Huawei handsets land over here, they’ve been slowly coming as we have seen with the T-Mobile Tap. Unfortunately the web browsing experience on the handset was well below our expectations, but now Huawei is teaming up with one of the premier web browsers for mobile phones. Opera Software announced today that Huawei will begin pre-installing Opera Mobile 10 on a range of their handsets. Since releasing Opera Mobile 10 for operators and OEMs back in December, Huawei is able to implement the direct-to-distributor version outfitted with the new cross-platform UI framework to their handsets – ensuring a high quality level of web surfing for all its customers. Jian Huabing, Head of Huawei handset R&D department, said that “Customer expectations for mobile-phone capabilities are constantly growing. We needed a browser that's always ahead of those expectations, anticipating our customers' mobile Web needs and making it a reality. Opera is that browser.” As for Opera and Lars Boilesen, CEO of Opera Software, believes that Huawei has recognized the value that their mobile web browser provides and will continue to help them exceed expectations. There’s no hiding the superior performance of the web browser – time after time we are still amazed by its depth and usability.
