Huawei Watch Elegant and Jewel editions unveiled, coming in Q1 2016

Huawei is a relative newcomer to the US market, but when it comes to wearables it has entered with quite the bang with its premium product: the Huawei Watch. The timepiece was made available in late 2015 and is now sold on Amazon and at Best Buy stores across the nation, and while CES 2016 does not bring a brand new version of the watch, it does introduce two new variations: the Huawei Watch Elegant and Jewel editions.

These two new editions feature tinier bands and what seems like a gold body (currently, the gold body Huawei Watch price starts at $700). The Jewel edition in particular is notable for having jewels encrusted around the full circle of the body of the watch.

To freshen up your mind, the Huawei Watch sports a 1.4-inch AMOLED display with a 400 x 400-pixel resolution, it runs on the Android Wear platform, sports a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 system chip, and is compatible with Android devices running 4.3 or later, as well as with Apple devices running on iOS 8.2 and later. Memory is 4 gigs and RAM is 512MB. The 300mAh Huawei Watch battery lasts around a day and a half.

You will be able to buy the Huawei Watch Elegant and Jewel editions by the end of the first quarter of 2016. The timepieces will be available in the United States at Best Buy, Google Store, GetHuawei.com and Amazon.com.

Update: Engadget has obtained the prices for the two new watches. The Huawei Watch Elegant edition price is set at $500, while the Jewel is a bit costlier at $600.
