Huawei confirms triple-camera setup on Mate 20 series in newest teaser

Huawei confirms triple-camera setup on Mate 20 series in newest teaser
The flow of Huawei Mate 20 teasers continues and, in the latest one, the company has confirmed the square-shaped rear camera setup.

During the video teaser in question, Huawei states that it’s time to “explore something new” before eventually displaying the outline of the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro’s rear camera setup. Now, the video itself doesn’t confirm any actual camera specifications but previous reports have revealed the details.

Starting off with the slightly more premium Mate 20 Pro, a main 40-megapixel camera will be accompanied by a secondary 20-megapixel monochrome sensor and an 8-megapixel camera complete with a telephoto lens that is capable 3x optical zoom. This same telephoto lens will also make its way to the regular model. However, when it comes to the monochrome sensor and the main camera, these will offer slightly lower resolutions of 12-megapixels and 20-megapixels respectively.

Moving away from the cameras, both smartphones will run the Kirin 980 processor and include a minimum of 6GB of RAM. Moreover, 128GB of storage was previously confirmed but, much like the P20 series, this isn’t expected to be expandable. In regards to the batteries, Huawei has already confirmed that over 4,000mAh will be on offer. And, on the software side of things, Android 9 Pie with the EMUI 9.0 overlay will complete the package.

Both the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will be officially unveiled in London in just under one month’s time. Alongside these, the Chinese company is expected to announce a new Mate 20 Porsche Design and possibly the Huawei Watch GT.

No dont want a monochrome, want 3 cameras, wide, normal & 3x zoom. Can get great low light without using monochrome.

4 cameras on P30. P series has more focus on camera than Mate series.

I love the monochrome on my P20 Pro and wouldn't want them to replace it with a wide angle lense. The b&w shots I get on this phone looks nothing like anything you get from another phone.

Just imagine, and they probably did, if Huawei made any improvements to what we already have available on the P20 Pro. Wow.

I don't think adding a triple cameras setup is going to automatically make it take excellent photos like what's done on the Pixel phones.

But the P20 Pro already takes excellent photos. Just check Instagram.

Yeah, it really does. But some people just can’t handle the truth.

Reviews and actual photos prove your statement to be false.

The more I read and hear about the Mate 20 Pro, the more I'm certain that it will be my next Huawei smartphone to replace my Mate 10 Pro. The triple camera set up on the P20 Pro already surpassed the camera on the Pixel Phones, so I have no doubt that the Mate 20 Pro will do the same.

Let's hope the keynote is understandable this year, the ceo is not a native English speaker cant understand most of what he says.

I can understand one thing and that's that three sensors won't automatically make it a good camera and certainly not better than the Pixel phones like some people think. Even the P20 Pro couldn't match the software prowess of the Pixel.

That's because it overpasses it. Anyone who owns the phone, who knows how to play and tweak with the camera settings, know that there's no phone better at photography than this. Go check XDA's forums, or a simple search for the hashtag p20pro on Instagram will give you tens of thousands of pictures that can prove what I am saying.

Exactly. P20 Pro has surpassed the Pixel, but some people just choose to accept this fact.

Lol, I think you forgot a word there, but don't let the facts get in the way of a false narrative.

Lol, think you forgot your brain there, but don't let that fact get in the way of the great story you're telling. Carry on.

Forgot my brain huh? Wow, that was the best you can come up with? Lol, funniest part about it is that you gave yourself a thumbs up.

Lol, see? You’re proving again that you forgot your brain. And what’s even funnier is that not only are you projecting, but all 9 of your other faux accounts are banned so you can’t thumb yourself up, lol.

I don't have any faux accounts. That's your area of expertise.

Lol, stop projecting, mxyzptlk. We know it's you.

Here's the thing, and not to say that you are wrong or anything, but you don't really have to change or tweak the settings on the Pixel phones to take some of the best pictures out there. I'm pretty sure that I would find thousands of pictures out there just like you said. I'm not denying that. Plus the Huawei phone is as widely available to everyone as the Pixel is, least not here in the US.

Lol, I think you forgot how to spell a word their. But do continue with your fabrication as opposed to the facts.

No thanks, I'll just leave that to you since you're the expert at fabricating things.

Well considering the person I'm responding to isn't genius enough to come up with his own responses, so he has to copy paste mine, yeah that wouldn't totally be untrue.

Lol, thanks for being dumb enough to admit that you're the one fabricating.
