The Huawei Mate 20 Pro may not include a 6.9-inch display after all
The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are both expected to go official in mid-October and, for quite some time now, the latter variant has been rumored to include a huge 6.9-inch OLED display complete with curved edges on either side. Today, though, tipster Steven Hemmerstoffer has debunked this claim entirely.

Rather than making use of a 6.9-inch display, Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro actually looks set to utilize a much smaller 6.25-inch panel, at least according to CAD designs of the smartphone. Coinciding with previous leaks, however, the flagship will still include a rather wide notch towards the top that will be home to a new Face ID-rivaling technology. Moreover, the Samsung-like curved edges on either side of the smartphone will be present too. In fact, overall, it seems the only incorrect detail related to the actual size of the display.

When it comes to the internal details, the brand-new Kirin 980 will power the smartphone alongside at least 6GB of RAM. Additionally, images that leaked yesterday confirmed the inclusion of 128GB of internal storage but, unfortunately, this isn’t set to be expandable. In regards to the camera department, a main 40-megapixel camera will accompany a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor, and an extra 8-megapixel camera complete with a telephoto lens. Also, completing the device’s setup will be a battery that offers at least 4,000mAh in capacity and Android 9 Pie with the EMUI 9.0 overlay on top.

Those interested in the Mate 20 Pro should be able to purchase the smartphone by the end of October, which is when shipments are expected to start. Likewise, those who may want something cheaper can opt for the regular Mate 20 model.
