Honor 8X Max leaked specs list include Snapdragon 660 chipset
Honor has already confirmed that its next mid-range smartphones, the Honor 8X and 8X Max will be officially unveiled on September 5. However, we've already seen some pictures of the phones and benchmarks that partially reveal their specs.

One thing that we weren't sure about is what chipset the phones will use, either the Snapdragon 636 or 660. Today, thanks to a leak from Weibo, the Chinese alternative for Facebook, we learned that at least one of the phone, the Honor 8X Max will be powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor.

Moreover, the leaked screenshots reveal the phone will pack 4GB RAM and the display's resolution: 2244 x 1080 pixels. If you haven't read our previous reports, then you might not be aware that the Honor 8X Max's display has a small waterdrop notch at the top, hence the unusual resolution.

Speaking of the display, the Honor 8X Max is said to boast a huge 7.12-inch screen, while the regular Honor 8X is expected to come with a much smaller one. The rest of the phone's specs might include a dual camera, a massive 4,900 mAh battery, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

They've just released $280 Honor Play with Kirin 970 which is faster than this SD660, I wonder how cheap they'll sell this one?

Honor play has much smaller battery, much smaller display, much smaller body. There is almost no possibility that it will be priced cheaper. That is how it works.

So the 8X Max will be bigger than even the current 2 size kings the No Max 3 and Honor's own Note 10. I am an unapologetic advocate of large display phones having owned a Z Ultra, the No Max 2 and just ordered the zHonor Note w0. But this is now getting ridiculous even for me. 7.12 inches screen? WTF

Actually No. MI MAX 3 has a 6.99in non notch display. A notched version of the same size will be around 7.2in. So its not actually bigger. They just turned the upper bezels into a notch and gained those 0.2inch. Depending on the size of the notch, it might actually be smaller in size than the Max 3. PS - All this assuming it has a notch like other huawei n honor devices of this gen.

Are you using that 8 incher as a phone? If not, then it should not be laughing as that is a tablet and the 8X is a phone.
