HTC Desire 728 introduced in China: 5.5-inch HD screen, MT6753 SoC, and 13MP rear camera
The HTC Desire 728 has been made official in China. In July, the phone was certified in the country by TENAA and is now offered at a price of $269 USD. The latest HTC phablet is equipped with a 5.5-inch, 720 x 1280 HD resolution screen. That works out to a 267ppi pixel density. Under the hood you will find the MediaTek MT6753, carrying an octa-core 1.3GHz CPU along with the Mali-T720 GPU. 2GB of RAM is inside along with 16GB of expandable internal storage.

The camera on back of the phone is 13MP while a 5MP snapper rest on the front. A 2800 mAh battery keeps the radio crackling, and quickly powers up thanks to 5V and 1.5A fast charging (plug sold separately). Android 5.1.1 is pre-installed.

The HTC Desire 728 has dual SIM capabilities and supports 4G LTE connectivity, Cat.4. That means that the handset is capable of speeds as fast as 150Mbps.

Thanks for the tip!

What about htc one a9 aka aero? Is it going to be announced today?

You really think HTC is going to quietly unveil the One A9. First their will be a lot of leaks, followed by a massive press conference. Also, it is most likely that they will have the invite in English. But it should be announced in October as stated.

It hurts me to say it but this this is just pathetic. A design change does not mean you have to make it worse than before. And 260 PPI??? Wtf?

Bulls**t. Where's my Aero???? On serious note, even after they have got rid of that infamous black bar on the front, the buzel is still way too big. I love boomsound speakers but they should find a way to keep small bezel and boomsound speakers somehow coexist.

Reminder this is a mid-ranger, sure it's kinda overpriced, but a mid-ranger is a mid-ranger

I love HTC phones but I can see clearly that something is really wrong with them somewhere. Where is the redeemer "Aero A9?. Since HTC loves the "Desire" model so much, they should have made it their flagship phone. Anyway, I think the good old desire HD and the desire 816 are the best HTC phones from the desire line.

I'm no multi-million dollar phone company, but here's what I think HTC needs to do to get back on track. Anybody remember the Desire eye? I thought that phone was a great new design for HTC. The front facing "cyclops" camera with flash was a good idea, and the subdued boomsound speakers were discreetly fitted into the bezels. Even though the top and bottom bezels were still larger than average, (which I actually think looks attractive) most onlookers didn't seem as bothered by it as usual. If they converted that design language into an aluminum chassis, gave it the IP68 treatment, maxed out the specs, and launched an actual convincing marketing campaign, I think they could have a winner. I know "aero" is just a code name, but I think it could serve as a fairly catchy, memorable moniker. (HTC Aero Max, anyone) This M7-9 business isn't helping with recognition at all. And these "Desire" names are even harder to keep track! One thing's for sure: now that HTC finds themselves on people's bad "Just die already" side, they're fighting an uphill battle. No matter what they do, people will be obsessed with their bezels, and "journalists" will say that they're copying the iPhone, whether it's true or not. I'm rooting for HTC, but I know it's heavily swayed against them right now. We'll see if they can pull through or not. :/

HTC is mad now. In other part of the world I would say "ok", but in China? You can get Redmi note 2 for half the price.
