Google integrates Scoutmob into its Field Trip local discovery app for deal alerts
Google has buddied up with Scoutmob for its Field Trip app to display local deals and activities that are around your general area of existence at the moment. Field Trip is developed by Google's Niantic Labs, and shows localized info for sightseeing, eateries, fun places and so on.
Including Scoutmob will let you explore the area around you with your Android phone even better, knowing you are unlikely to overpay for things, and can even score a good deal on tickets, meals and various travel paraphernalia, and will always have interesting suggestions what to do at your fingertips.
Brands like Zagat, Cool Hunting and Thrillist are typical presence in the Field Trip app, so Scoutmob is in good company there. Or, as its founders say:
We believe in treating everyday like your own local field trip. Heck, we encourage you to reenact Ferris Bueller's Day Off any day of the week. And there’s no better way to feel connected to your community than by supporting locally owned businesses. Here’s to a more curious 2013 and beyond.
