Google Assistant phone calls feature comes to non-Google smart speakers
We're not sure how many people are using the phone calls feature on their Google Assistant smart speakers, but it's such a nice to have option especially when you have your hands full. The feature was only available on Google's Home line initially, but then the Mountain View company has decided to bring it to third-party smart speakers as well.

For example, Insignia, Best Buy's electronics brand, received the phone calls feature late last year although not all Insignia smart speakers may fully support it. Today, Google updated the Assistant support page to clarify what smart speakers have the phone calls feature, AndroidPolice reports.

Well, it's not really a clarification since Google mentions that only some of these third-party smart speakers include phone calls support, but fails to mention which ones. Long story short, it appears that phone calls are now available on some Insignia speakers with Google Assistant and some Harman speakers featuring Google's digital assistant.

On the other hand, all Google Home speakers and all Smart Displays with Google Assistant should offer the phone calls feature. Naturally, you'll only be able to use the feature in the United States, Canada or the UK. Also, your Google Assistant language must be set to English (US, UK and Canada) or French (Canada).
