The Meizu Pro series, which started with last November's launch of the Meizu Pro 5, has always had some serious power under the hood. The Pro 5 is powered by the Exynos 7420 chipset. Unveiled this past April, the Meizu Pro 6 features a MediaTek Helio X25 SoC with a deca-core CPU. On September 13th, five months after the unveiling of the Pro 6, Meizu will take the wraps off of the Meizu Pro 7. The phone will be driven by the Exynos 8890, the same chipset used on the Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

According to a report out of China that was published today, Meizu will unveil the Flyme 6 UI during the same September 13th event that outs the Pro 7. That would suggest that the new handset will have Flyme 6 pre-installed.

According to AnTuTu, the Meizu Pro 7 features a screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. The aforementioned Exynos 8890 SoC drives the handset. 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM is inside along with 32GB of native storage. A 12MP rear-facing camera is on back, while a 5MP camera adorns the front of the unit, ready to snap selfies and handle video chats. Android 6.0.1 is pre-installed.

Leaked images of the phone show a dual-curved edge screen for the Pro 7. We should have all of the specs, pricing and availability on September 13th. Stay tuned!
