The first Samsung Galaxy S8 TV commercial is here

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are already available to pre-order in the US, but there's still a couple of weeks left before they'll be released. Unsurprisingly, in the meantime, Samsung is busy heavily promoting its new flagship series, and today it revealed the very first Galaxy S8 TV commercial - embedded above.

The commercial isn't about specs, and doesn't really say much about what the Galaxy S8 can do for you. Instead, it focuses on what strikes you first upon laying eyes on a Galaxy S8: its dual-curve Infinity Display, and the almost non-existent bezels around it.

This can be considered a jab at the flagship handsets with thick bezels that some of the competing companies (starting with Apple) are currently selling. Of course, Apple is seemingly readying its own near-bezel-less iPhone, but this isn't expected to be launched before September.

For a closer look at Samsung's latest high-end smartphones, feel free to check out our Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ hands-on.

I saw this commercial a few days ago if I'm not wrong. Or was that a dream? Really confused.

This commercial was in the launch event. So I presume you watched the whole live stream :D

I watched all launch events, since this is my last semester of college and I have already completed my degree and have a few job offers. So I have plenty of time at hand. Plus, S8 is one of the phone I am probably going to purchase to keep up the tradition(I owned the S2, S4 and S6 before it).

Did you just call Tyrion_Lannister a third class software engineer, @Kumar1234? Way to be a jerk. You need a good kick on that disrespectful ass of yours.

14. kumar1234 unregistered

Sorry I didn't to hurt your fragile feelings, lol, yeah I should've been more clear from the start, he is a fourth class software engineer and a shortie who will never be able to join major software company expect for that PoS samsung department which produce PoS OS Tizen. #fact. This should clean this up. And you need a great kick on that asskissing ass of yours. lol,

Thanks man, I am not joining Samsung though.

17. kumar1234 unregistered

yeah, right. I totally believe you. ;) Oh, you edited your comment. That's a shame. But you should totally join Tizen OS team. They are perfect for you.

You should. I know a lot more than you and can absolutely thrash you in any kind of competition.

21. kumar1234 unregistered

You know $hit. Your half-assed knowledge, pretend to be know it all attitude only works on dumbass sammy boys. LOL, B, you can absolutely thrash me in any kind of competition if the competition is about "who is the biggest attention wh*re jackass know it all wanna be".

22. Tyrion_Lannister unregistered

That's funny coming from a guy who doesn't know jacks**t about the thing he loves to talk about. I know about and own more Apple hardware than your poor ass will in your sad life. Here's the fact. Everyone knows that you're an Apple w***e and one of the worst commentors this site has ever seen. On top of it, your colossal stupidity makes it all the way worse. You had absolutely no business attacking me, yet you pulled the trigger on something you are now regretting. I won't waste anymore of my time with you and your retarded ass. Go back to your hole and cry the day out.

No wonder you bashed the s7 all through and praising the s8 everywhere. Its now clear you always knew you were going to skip the s7 and purchase the s8, hence your different reaction towards the both of them. Praise what you're gonna get and bash something you were never gonna get. It all makes sense now..

It's not just that. It's the approaches Samsung takes with the even and odd S series phones. Odd series are the evolution of the previous phone, perfecting the features and fixing the flaws in the previous phone. Even series is the revolution, with the new tech, new features and new form-factor. It usually features a lot of industry-firsts. I'm just drawn a lot more to the latter approach. Both are necessary, but everyone has their personal opinions of what they like. BTW, I always said that S7 edge(exynos) was the best phone you could buy in 2016. And I still stand by that statement. It's just not for me.

Tyrion, PA isn't known to be fast at reporting on the latest news. I still haven't seen an article on PA reporting about the Galaxy S8 having the best display and scoring the highest ever grade of A ... at DisplayMate. This news is 2 days old now.

The display looks incredible. I wonder if the Xperia ZS Premium 4K display can beat it or at least give it a run for its money. We shall see. The GS6 still has the best display. I never owned a GS7 so I am not sure if it's better or not.

Great commercial. One of their better ones. Sony makes the best ads though. I still watch this promo video. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Dud8cmhRYFk Totally sold me on the Xperia Z until I tried it at a Sony store. And even though I didn't end up buying it, it worked because I eventually purchased the Xperia Z3 and Z3 compact when they finally completed the design. Came close to getting the Z5 premium but the SD810 curbed that. Oh well, Sony promos are crazy good.
