First Google Pixel ad leaks ahead of announcement

10comments

We're just under an hour away from the official launch of the Google Pixel duo now, and plenty of last-ditch leaks have been coming through the mill. In the latest, we get a glimpse of what's likely to become a large ad campaign for Google's venture into the premium smartphone marketplace. The new advertisement sees the devices take center stage in a literal sense, and also reveals a not-yet-live URL for the Pixels.

For the duration of the one-minute ad, the middle segment of the clip is obscured by a white bar that gradually morphs into a smartphone shape. By the end, we see the Pixel form factor in all of its glory. The short also reveals Google.com/phone as the main page for the Pixel and Pixel XL on Google's website, though it currently shows nothing but a 404 error.

With not long to go, we're certainly past the "what we think we know" stage by now. A number of key details pertaining to the Pixel and Pixel XL have been revealed and reaffirmed by numerous sources, as you'll see in our rumor round-up.

With that said, Google could have a number of surprises up its sleeve, so be sure to stay tuned to our liveblog for a play-by-play of the major announcements as they happen.

In the meantime, check out the leaked commercial below, and let us know if you're excited about the Pixel duo in the comments.
