Exclusive: The Samsung Galaxy P30 will be released as the Galaxy A6s
The Samsung Galaxy A6+

Quite some time ago, it was revealed that Samsung was preparing a new mid-range device known as the Galaxy P30. However, just a few days ago, industry sources came forward to reveal that this would not be the final name of the smartphone. Instead, it was confirmed that the offering would actually launch as part of Samsung’s newly-expanded Galaxy A lineup.

At the time, the final name of the device remained largely unclear. But today, thanks to reliable sources which have confirmed the information, PhoneArena can exclusively reveal that the device previously known as the Galaxy P30 will actually be released as the Samsung Galaxy A6s.

From what has been disclosed to us, it’s understood that the Galaxy A6s moniker will be used throughout a variety of Asian markets, with China being the main focus – the device is expected to play a big role in Samsung’s comeback in the country alongside the new Galaxy A7 (2018) and the upcoming Galaxy A9 Pro (2018). When it comes to an international release, though, our sources have stated that the South Korean giant may opt for a different name in order to better differentiate the device from the regular Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+.

Presently, the Samsung Galaxy A6s is expected to go official on October 11 alongside the premium Galaxy A9 Pro (2018). Shortly after the announcement event, sales of the two devices are then expected to kick off. What remains unclear at this moment in time is how Samsung will choose to price them.
