"Early" LG G4 press render shows up, suggests the phone is slightly curved

LG already confirmed that it's getting ready to unveil a new flagship smartphone: the LG G4. The new handset could be officially announced in April or May, and, according to a previous report, it's going to be "radically" different from the G3.

Now, we can take a look at what's supposed to be an "early, non final" LG G4 press render (click on the image on the left to see it in full size). Posted on Twitter by @OnLeaks, the render allegedly shows the back of a black G4. It seems that the handset is slightly curved, while there's a noticeable bump around its camera. Overall, though, the rear of this alleged G4 doesn't look too different from the rear of the LG G3.

Reportedly, the G4 measures 148.9 x 76.5 x 9.9 mm, thus being a tad taller, wider, and thicker than the LG G3 (which measures 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm). That's interesting, because we heard that the G4 would sport a 5.3-inch display, instead of the 5.5-inch screen of the G3 - so it might offer a lower screen-to-body ratio.

The upcoming LG flagship smartphone should be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, and might feature a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button on its back.

It's said that LG is planning to sell at least 10 million G4 smartphones around the world.

I honestly hope it is curved. Maybe just a bit less than the G Flex, but having just that slight curve makes it look so sleek.

God no! That curve or any curve is not sexy at all.

OH YES IT IS buddy. Imagine a sleek curve with stainless metal on its back. That would be something

LG made the best fridge I ever bought. Stainless steel with a beautiful curve yet STILL able to fit all the juice and milk in the doors. These guys know what they're doing. Serious, Samsung fridges need some new engineers. Barely fits a rack of ribs in the freezer.

It's a innovative design I love to have a curve screen.

Since the LG flex curve doesnt follow the leggs curve then I call the flex and any phone with that kind of curve a total failure. Its uncorotable to be put in your pocket since its curve is the opposite of your leggs.

Remember the same s**t for S6 and M9 rumours, no they are fake, no way M9 will looks same as M8, no way S6 will not have removable back. Yet all of them came true. When it comes to leaks if they are constantly showing the same design then it always end up being true, lets see next G4 leaks and compare them.

So, it's allegedly wider than the LG G Flex 2? And, almost the same height? Unf... Not sure how I feel about this, hopefully it doesn't turn out to be true. I liked how compact the G3 felt in my hands. The G Flex 2 stretches past my personal comfort zone.

Larger yet a smaller screen? They must be doing something with the front then. Maybe adding that finger print scanner?

I think they have been hanging around HTC too much. Adding size for anything besides a bigger screen is a death sentence. Amazing that only Apple and Samsung realize this.

If this is true... don't think it's enough to go up against the S6. Again, if this is real, kind of disappointed in what HTC and LG released as flagships this year.

So now we all know why they are releasing a more premium flagship.

I find it truly amusing how many of these commenters speak as if this is something completely verified, and even more, as if it was final. Very amusing, indeed.

oookay smaller screen bigger size and bit thicker, if they offer larger battery then count me in...

I doubt it's a small screen. If they managed to fit a 5.5" inch screen on the G Flex 2, and the G4 is said to have similar dimensions, I imagine the G4 will also sport a 5'5". Plus, didn't LG state that they deemed it perfect size for them? No way it's going to be any smaller than 5.5".

Not a fan of this render at all. I'm a huge lg fan and hope they really didn't ruin an amazing device like this. Glad im getting the g flex 2. While it still needs optimization I rather have it than whatever phone looks like that.

I was holding out for the G4 but I hope they offer a non-curved variant. I also, since it's so early, I hope the info about the size of the screen being reduced is wrong too. LGs screen to body ratio was always the best on its phones. They better not mess it up...or I'll finally just switch to an iPhone. Not a fan of the other android phones out there.

It's a very subtle curve. You could see it in their new mid rangers they announced at MWC.

Taller, yet with a smaller screen... could that mean front stereo speakers (Like the HTC)?

The speaker is on the back in above pic.
