Details about the next year Samsung Galaxy J3 might have already been leaked

Although 2017 is not over yet, most smartphone companies are already working on their next year's lineups. Just like it did in the last couple of years, Samsung plans to launch an entry-level Galaxy J handset.

Obviously, we're talking about the Galaxy J3, one of the cheapest Android smartphones to be released by Samsung each year. However, that doesn't mean that the phone isn't improved each year.

Unfortunately, the 2018 model does not seem to pack too many improvements over the current Galaxy J3 (2017) version. According to a listing up at GFXBench, the Galaxy J3 (2018), also known as Samsung SM-J337), is supposed to feature a 5-inch display with HD (720p) resolution.

Also, the smartphone will pack a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, probably an Exynos, coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory (9GB user available). Strangely, the phone is listed with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, despite the fact that the Galaxy J3 (2017) has a better 13-megapixel snapper.

Last but not least, Samsung Galaxy J3 (2018) is likely to ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat on board and an improved Mali-G71 GPU (graphics processing unit).

Keep in mind that some of the specs listed at GFXBench might not come in line with the final product, but at least we know what Samsung plans to improve and what's likely to remain the same.

Not a stupid phone, it's just not for power users. Got it for my mom, she loves it.

This will not be a successor to the Galaxy J3 (2017). And yes the Galaxy J3 Prime (SM-J327, also known as Galaxy J3 Emerge, Galaxy J3 V, Galaxy Express Prime 2, Galaxy Amp Prime 2).

Will we also have a SM-J737, that is, a successor to the Galaxy J7 Perx (SM-J727, also known as Galaxy J7 Sky Pro or Galaxy J7 V)? Or the Galaxy J7+ (SM-C710, originally known as Galaxy C7 (2017) but also called Galaxy C8) already fulfills this role?
