Deal: get an AT&T-compatible Nokia Lumia 635 for just $39.99 from Amazon
The Nokia Lumia 635 has been made available as part of multiple discounts during the past few months, but if you've missed out on all of those previous deals, then here's another chance.
Amazon is currently offering the Nokia Lumia 635 for AT&T with 8GB of integrated storage space and 512MB of RAM for $39.99. The smartphone is also available in a slightly upgraded version with 1GB of RAM, but unlike the Virgin Mobile version that BestBuy was selling back in June, Amazon's offer is for the version with 512MB of RAM.
At $39.99 with no contractual obligations, you can't possibly expect the smartphone to be anything other than an entry-level device. You might want to use the handset as a secondary handset. One particularly interesting trick that the Lumia 635 can perform is offline GPS navigation, a feature that makes the handset a perfect low-cost companion for hiking trips or any other outdoor activities.
As far as the specs go, the Nokia Lumia 635 - one the last Windows smartphones to carry the Nokia branding - comes with a 4.5-inch display running a resolution of 480 by 854 pixels at a PPI of 221, a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with 512MB of RAM, 8GB of microSD-expandable integrated storage space and a 1830mAh battery. In the camera department, the handset comes with an 8MP primary camera, but lacks a secondary "selfie" shooter. If you're not the type to read through raw hardware specs, this is an entry-level handset across the board. Check out our full Nokia Lumia 635 review for more details.

At the moment, the Lumia 635 is running Windows Phone 8.1, but the handset will be updated to Windows 10 Mobile when the new mobile OS launches later this year. In fact, you can install the preview version of Windows 10 Mobile on the handset, and one report claimed that Windows 10 Mobile actually runs quite smooth on the Lumia 635. One detail to bear in mind is that Continuum, arguably one of the star features of the upcoming mobile OS from Microsoft will not work on the Lumia 635, as the feature requires new hardware.
