Facebook's Portal smart display is on sale once again, but this time customers are invite to buy one at just half the price. At least two US retailers now offer the Portal for 50% off, but the Portal+ is on sale as well if you buy it directly from Facebook.
Originally priced at $200, the Portal is now available at half price on Amazon and Best Buy. Those who want to buy both the Portal and Portal+ smart display will be getting a $200 discount, a pretty good deal if want to gift one to a friend.
Keep in mind that the Facebook Portal+ is not discounted at Amazon and Best Buy, so you'll still have to come up to $350 to purchase one. However, you can save $100 on the bigger smart display if you order one directly from Facebook.
Facebook's Portal smart display features built-in Alexa support, so you can ask a question, set a timer, add items to your shopping list, control your smart home and more. Also, when you're not using it for video calling, Portal can display your Facebook photo and videos.
Of course, if you want more privacy, you can completely disable the camera and microphone with a single tap, or you can block the camera lens with the cover provided.
