Cellular South nabs the mid-range HTC Merge; selling for $100 on-contract
Although we managed to get first wind about Cellular South potentially selling the HTC Merge way back at the end of March, the regional carrier is just finally coming around to selling the mid-range Android powered smartphone.

Alltel, Verizon, and US Cellular have been the list of carriers that decided to pick up the on again, off again smartphone, but it doesn’t surprise us to find yet another regional carrier joining the crew. Selling for the fitting price of $99.99 with a 2-year contract, which is actually the perfect price point for this one, it’s still guaranteed to attract some potential customers out there. Obviously, it’s no longer the shiniest or most powerful smartphone in the stable now that dual-core handsets reign supreme in the upper end of the spectrum.

Therefore, if you want something a bit more reasonable on the pockets, while still regarded as a decent smartphone, then maybe the HTC Merge might fill in the gap for you.
