Carphone Warehouse sees 13% rise in revenue
Carphone Warehouse Group PLC reported a 13 percent increase in retail revenue in their most recent quarter. Europe’s largest mobile phone retailer also stated that there are challenging times ahead due to the handset market decline. The news is welcomed in the wake of other powerhouse companies reporting loses throughout the wireless industry. Their total revenue rose to 1 billion pounds (EUR 1.1 billion, USD1.5 billion) during the period with an increased estimate of 12 to 13 pence per share. Other good news reported by the company was its 30 percent market share in prepay market and overall mobile connections up 3 percent to 3.7 million. Their TalkTalk business, which provides telephone and broadband service, were down 2 percent to 347 million pounds. In this gloomy worldwide slump, it’s quite refreshing to see a company announce some positive results.
