Some of us love reading books other than fiction. But they just don't have the time, or patience to sift through pages and pages of challenging content just so they can get away with the best bits, or merely the text's essence. Sounds like a complicated problem to have, no?

Don't worry, there's an app for that. It's called Blinkist, and it's made by German researchers, which alone should inspire your confidence in it. Available on a trial for Android and iOS, Blinkist lets you read more in less time by converting weighty articles into a "beautiful, concise, eminently usable format - blinks".

Each blink takes no longer than two minutes to read, which, according to the developers, is enough to get you on the learning path even if you are on the famously strict German schedule. Each blink is hand-written and curated by a team of "true field experts". The app's inventors proudly claim "no algorithms - pure human brainpower!", along with a "passion for explaining complex matters in a simple and beautiful language".

Does this sound like your cup of tea? You can try Blinkist for free, and subscribe on a monthly, quarterly, or yearly period. The app is already gaining traction, so give it a test drive if you are interested.
