BlackBerry Storm 2 allows SurePress to be turned off?
Verizon and RIM must be feeling the heat. A whole series of YouTube videos have been pulled featuring the BlackBerry Storm 2 and the 9700 Onyx. The Storm 2 video showed what appears to be an option that allows the SurePress clicking keyboard system to be turned off, a feature that many owners of the first-gen model dearly wanted. The video for the BlackBerry 9700 was a quick look at the hardware but did point out that the OS running the device is 5.0.0.208.

Just the other day, we reported that a video showing the Storm 2 was pulled by Google's video web site, and a second one comparing the 9530 with the 9520 was later taken down. If you're lucky enough to catch the sequel version of RIM's touchscreen device on video, you can see that the second time around, RIM put a lot more thought into the handset and is obviously listening to suggestions from first-gen Storm owners. Verizon will release the Storm 2 for business accounts on September 29th and October 14th for the rest of us. The BlackBerry 9700 is expected to be launched by AT&T and T-Mobile although a definitive date is unknown. Pricing for both models has not been revealed.
