Asus ZenFone 3 starts receiving Android 8.0 Oreo
As promised, Asus has just started the roll-out of Android 8.0 Oreo for ZenFone 3. Apparently, all unlocked ZenFone 3 models are now eligible for the update, so make sure to head to System updates to check if there is a new firmware available.

According to Asus, you should free up at least 1.5GB storage before starting the software update. Also, make sure your phone's battery is at least 50% charged. Along with the new features and improvements included in Android 8.0 Oreo, Asus added some of its own.

For example, the launcher received some major changes, so you'll now be able to swipe up to see all apps, and the all app icon can be now changed. Furthermore, Asus states that it has implemented some changes to make the setting UI design more friendly.

Finally, you'll notice that some applications will be removed after the update, such as MiniMovie, Photo Collage, and Do It Later, so don't look for them.

Keep in mind that due to the fact that Asus' server pushes the update in waves, it may take a few days to hit all ZenFone 3 smartphones.
