Apple is bullish with its predictions - planning to produce 100 million iPhones and 48 million iPads in 2011
According to Wedge Partners analyst Brian Blair, Apple is planning to produce 48 million iPads and 100 million iPhones in 2011. These numbers suggest that by the end of 2011, Apple envisages to have a 10% share of all handset sales. Furthermore, even if the most optimistic tablet predictions come true (pointing to sales between 55 and 60 million units), this will mean that the iPad will retain its staggering percent in the tab market.

This prediction is based on supply chain checks and it points out that Apple is looking out to record a 100% increase in consecutive years. According to a calculation based on the same method, for the calendar 2010 Apple is planning to build approximately 50 million iPhones.

What's your opinion on that? Do you think Apple will be able to achieve these astronomical figures or the Cupertino-based company is overestimating its capabilities?
