Siri Shortcuts is added to the Apple Store app speeding up the process of pre-ordering the iPhone XR
An update to the Apple Store app will allow users to pre-order the Apple iPhone XR in an eye blink. Pre-orders for the Apple iPhone XR begin on October 19th with the release of the phone taking place a week later. Members of the iPhone Upgrade Program can get pre-approved to buy the iPhone XR on the Apple Store app. While in the process of completing that task on the app, a new red button that says "Add to Siri" will appear. Pressing that button will allow Upgrade Program members to set a custom Siri Shortcuts phrase, like "pre-order my iPhone."

Once pre-orders start on October 19th, iPhone Upgrade Program members opening the App Store app and repeating their custom Siri Shortcuts phrase, will see their pre-approvals for the iPhone XR appear on the screen. Placing the pre-order takes no time at all after that.

The Apple iPhone XR features a 6.1-inch LCD display. While it doesn't offer 3D Touch or a dual camera setup on back, it still comes with the TrueDepth Camera, Face ID, and is powered by the same A12 Bionic SoC that drives the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. It will be available in six different colors (White, Black, Blue, Yellow, Coral, Red) starting at $749 for 64GB, ($37.41/month over 24 months), $799 for 128GB ($39.50/month over 24 months) and $899 for 256GB ($43.66/month over 24 months).
