Apple closes Shazam deal, promises more ways to enjoy music
Apple has just announced it has acquired Shazam after the European Commission approved the transaction early this month. If you're a Shazam user, you'll be pleased to know that Apple will make the app completely ad-free in the not so distant future.

Furthermore, the Cupertino-based company announced that the Shazam and Apple Music teams will join forces “to provide users with even more great ways to discover, experience and enjoy music.

If you haven't yet used Shazam for whatever reasons, then you may want to know that the app can identify songs by listening to the music playing around you. According to Apple, Shazam has been downloaded over 1 billion times on all platforms, and users identify songs using the app more than 20 million times each day.

We can't wait to see what Apple has in store for Shazam users, but for now, a fully ad-free app and the option to identify a song even when you're offline will have to do.
