Apple closes Shazam deal, promises more ways to enjoy music

Furthermore, the Cupertino-based company announced that the Shazam and Apple Music teams will join forces “to provide users with even more great ways to discover, experience and enjoy music.”
If you haven't yet used Shazam for whatever reasons, then you may want to know that the app can identify songs by listening to the music playing around you. According to Apple, Shazam has been downloaded over 1 billion times on all platforms, and users identify songs using the app more than 20 million times each day.
We can't wait to see what Apple has in store for Shazam users, but for now, a fully ad-free app and the option to identify a song even when you're offline will have to do.

"If you're a Shazam user, you'll be pleased to know that Apple will make the app completely ad-free in the not so distant future." Haha let Android users enjoy the ads. Nice one Apple, well done! Keep your users happy.

It doesn't say ios or android app, so most probably they'll remove ads on both platforms.

Mate you've literally quoted the article: ""If you're a Shazam user, you'll be pleased to know that Apple will make the app completely ad-free in the not so distant future." They've said they're going to make the app ad-free. Because you're an Apple fanboy I get it you don't think Apple would remove the ads from the competing os ;)

It's only a matter of time before that Spotify integration evaporates. Seriously, anyone who doesn't think Apple will make Shazam work less well with their competition is delusional. Makes me sad because I've been a Shazam user for 8 years now.

i only use shazam to detect / discover music and nothing else. since apple acquire shazam, i foresee features being offered for a fee ala apple style. if this is the case bye bye shazam, i would like to never see/use you again no more. also if you put any apple related things in shazam then it's bye bye shazam too.
