Apple Store goes down before pre-orders start for iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro
The online Apple Store has gone down just prior to the start of pre-orders for the 4-inch Apple iPhone SE and 9.7-inch Apple iPad Pro. The iPhone SE might only have a 4-inch screen, but this is no "mini" handset. It is powered by the A9 chipset that has been a powerhouse for the Apple iPhone 6s and Apple iPhone 6s Plus.

The 12MP camera on back is the same iSight camera found on the iPhone 6s, and takes 4K videos. Apple Pay is supported on the iPhone SE thanks to the inclusion of NFC and Touch ID. Did we tell you that Live Pictures can be taken with the phone even though it doesn't support 3D Touch? The 16GB model is priced at $399, and for $100 more you can buy the 64GB unit. Colors available include Silver, Space Gray, Gold and Rose Gold.

Now how big is the screen on the 9.7-inch Apple iPad Pro? That's a trick question. Like the 12.9-inch model, this smaller variant of the iPad Pro will provide you with a quad-speaker system. It also supports a smaller version of the Smart Keyboard using Smart Connector, and will work with the Apple Pencil. While containing just half the 4GB of RAM found on its larger screened sibling, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro does come with a True Tone display that automatically adjusts brightness and color temperature.

The iPad Pro 32GB model with Wi-Fi only is $599. The 128GB model is $749, and the 256GB slate is $899. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro with Cellular connectivity is priced at $729 (32GB), $879 (128GB) and $1029 (256GB). Color options are Space Gray, Gold, Silver and Rose Gold.

The Apple iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro both start shipping on March 31st.
