Android users also get to experience the revamped Foursquare app today
Apple iPhone users aren’t the only ones who get to experience the all-new Foursquare, that’s because Android users are also able to download the latest version of the popular location-based social app right now through Google Play.

Featuring a revamped interface, which consists of finger friendly sized buttons and easier to read fonts, version 2012.06.07 of Foursquare for Android is available to download for any Android 2.1 and up device out there. Foursquare has been talking big about this expected update since last week, but alas, it’s finally here for all Android lovers to check out.

Aside from the visual update to the app’s interface, this revamped experience aims to get users to discover new places based on your friends’ check-ins. Specifically, this new version features the following:

  • Share and save your experiences wherever you go.
  • Get personalized recommendations and deals based on where you, your friends and people with your tastes have been.
  • Search for anything (from 'free wi-fi' to ‘dumplings’) or browse popular categories.
  • Discover insider tips and lists from local experts, brands, and celebrities.

So there you have it folks, but if you haven’t seen that notification on your phone just yet, you can snag the download through Google Play right now. So what are you waiting for? Maybe you can check out some of those new recommendations given by the app? In other Foursquare related news, the team mentions that the revamped experience will be coming to BlackBerry in a few weeks – though, there’s no mention about the Windows Phone Foursquare app.
