Revamped Foursquare 5.0 for iOS encourages users to discover new places
As expected folks, Foursquare unleashed its latest and revamped Foursquare app for iOS today, which attempts to move outside of the box with its typical check-in process. Instead, the revamped experience aims to keep users more active by continually enabling them to discover new places.

Available right now through the App Store, Foursquare 5.0 for iOS brings forth a redesign to the app’s interface. Specifically, the app allows users to easily access things like photos, list, places, and check-in by simply tapping a button that’s now placed in the top right corner of the app. Also, the Friends tab has been updated as well, where it’s now sporting a streamlined timeline of the locations where your friends checked into recently.

However, the biggest new feature with Foursquare 5.0 is the Explore button, which is located right in the bottom middle of the app. Essentially, this is the one-stop hub where users can actually be presented with a list of recommended places to visit, which are all compiled based on your friends’ check-ins.

Needless to say, iPhone users are sure to take the new experience with open arms, but there is still no word on a timeline when other platforms will be seeing a similar update. Then again, we’re certain that the wait for it won’t be long.
