Android 5.1 update rumored to bring new version of TouchWiz to Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (UPDATE)

Android 5.1 update rumored to bring new version of TouchWiz to Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (UPDATE)
According to a report published this weekend, the new version of TouchWiz that is found on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge could be made available to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 when the phablet receives its Android 5.1 update. The first Samsung devices to get the Android 5.1 update will be the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. Keep in mind that none of this has been confimed by Samsung and is all speculation at this point.

With much of the bloatware removed on the new version of TouchWiz, the result is a lighter skin that runs faster. Samsung says that the new UI is 40% lighter than the prior version. And according to a source who has knowledge of  Samsung's plans, the company was inspired more by its own Tizen OS than by Android when developing the latest TouchWiz build.

TouchWiz remains bright and colorful. But despite the changes made to the icons, many will still find them to be cartoonish, a criticism about TouchWiz that will not go away even with this new iteration. Overall, the new TouchWiz is bound to be considered a big step in the right direction. It certainly would be a positive for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users if this rumor does pan out.

Thanks for the tip!

you can disabled most of them

But it's the memory that they take up rather than whether they are disabled or not. On a 16GB phone they took up nearly 4 GB. Removal is what is wanted and that requires root.

iPhones are bloated, Sense is bloated, Sony phones are bloated, and every other phone is bloated with apps that we may or may not want.

And THIS is what's frustrating about Android updates. Second half of the year?!?!? Seriously?!?!?! It'll be end of the year before it gets through carrier approval.

Android updates aren't the issue. its devices that use skins and have carrier junk that make updates slow. If youre such in a hurry to have Android5.1, go buy a device with I. For me I seen reason to rush. The iPhone even with the latest iOS version, still dos less than any Android as old as one using Froyo. Also, whatever OS version your device came with, that is the one you're suppose to have. There is no law that says you should get ANY free updates.

Or just use a custom ROM, CM 12.1 for the Note 4 is super fast and practically stable

Stop complaining about how the new iteration of TW looks like, Samsung gave us a new theme engine that will change every part of the UI and make it look the way we like!!

We can do that even without Samsung's theme application.

you just hate TW :) .. unless you root your device, no launcher can change almost every element of the UI as what the new theme engine gives

the icons on TW do t look cartoony and haven't since ICS. I guess repeating BS makes it fact.

Sadly, it's the trend right now and it's Apple who started it.

Touchwiz is one of the best looking skins in Android land. A lot of people on the internet now say touchwiz is ugly because so many of them are sheep (including tech blog writers). They don't have their own opinion. They just follow what other say. It's so sad.

ummm i saw in a korean website that samsung was going to release the note 4 lte which has exynos 5433 in 64bit mode and android 5.0.2 but they couldn't because of system stability issues. that was the major dissappointment for me after lollipop update.
