Android 5.0.1 rollout begins for T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy Note 4
T-Mobile subscribers with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 are beginning to receive the Android 5.0.1 update on Monday morning. The update weighs in at a hefty 1.1GB and includes Material Design animations, shadowing and looks. It also includes the 64-bit ART compiler which will help apps open faster, Project Volta for improved battery life, and Lock Screen notifications. The update to Android 5.0.1 also brings the new Recent Apps page, the Quick Settings two finger drag down from any page, and the Smart Lock which unlocks your phone automatically when it is paired to a device running Android Wear.

Because of the hefty size of the file, we would suggest being connected to a Wi-Fi signal when downloading and installing the update. You also should have your battery charged to at least 50% The entire process will probably take you more than 20 minutes to complete.

Because the update is rolling out in waves, your phablet might not receive it for a few days. Stay patient, even if everyone all around you has received Android 5.0.1 and you're still plugging away on KitKat. Your turn will come.

Its 5.0.1 so no bugs that I've noticed yet.

I had the s2 ruined by an update, s3 ruined by an update, my s5 got worse with an update so I'm hesitant to update my note 4, partially because it's the best phone I've ever had and don't wanna ruin it.

I am in washington state and i got my notification about 5 minutes ago. It is downloading now as well A little more interesting is the T-Mobile software update site still says it is in testing phase. So I wonder if we are selected to finish the test for issues or did T-Mobile release the software update across the entire country. normally we get the update last in Washington.

It would be nice if the Note 3 also got this update as 5.0 is buggy.

So far so good, my Note 4 is definitely faster after the update, I didn't perform any factory reset or backup. Battery life is about the same, my battery only drained 2% at night but I would rather share my thoughts about battery life after a couple charge-discharge cycles. I'm still missing my data toggle on the notification bar, but I'm aware it was also missing on KK

I received the update today. My experience has been a little different than others. My phone was faster with Android 4.4.4 Kitkat. I think the phone's speed has slowed down due to all of these new animations. Also I had a problem with Google Play Services. But I uninstalled it and reinstalled, so now the Google Play services works great. For the most part, everything works great but the phone is slower. I disabled the power save mode to help, and it did make the phone move a little faster but the battery drains more now.

My Note 4 from T mobile actually got faster with the lollipop update that I didn't even have to do a factory reset. My father's LG G3 got so slow that even the factory reset did not help. I had to download Nova Launcher for his phone.
