Amazon and B&N offering e-Reader deals for Mother’s Day

Forget flowers, this Mother’s Day you can get Mom setup with an e-Reader on the cheap. If you think a Nook fits her best, yesterday Barnes & Noble announced that it would be offering a special that takes $20 off the already low prices of both its Nook Color and Nook Simple Touch products for Mother’s Day. The deal runs through May 12 and includes a gift bag. That makes the Nook Color just $169 and the Nook Simple Touch a mere $79.
In the competitive fashion we have all come to know and love Amazon for, it has launched a Gold Box Deal on the Kindle Fire. Amazon’s deal is good for today only, or until stock runs dry. This Gold Box Deal takes $30 off a certified refurbished Kindle Fire, making it just $139. Amazon states that the refurbished product is tested, certified to look and work like new, and includes the same one-year warranty as a new product.
