After six years, Instagram finally gets zoom feature

Given how popular Instagram has become for sharing photos and short clips, it's fair to say that the user experience has often lagged behind the times. Only last year did the Facebook-owned network begin to support higher-resolution content, along with shots at aspect ratios other than the 1:1 square. Now, another seemingly missing feature has been added to the fold — zoom.

Not before time, Instagram has officially announced the zoom feature via its Twitter feed, and it works just as you might expect. If you find a photo or video you'd like to take a close look at, simply perform the famous pinch gesture, and voilà!

this was long overdue.. always wondered why it's not implemented yet.. always was like pinching to view them as* but damn was so disappointing... another feature missing in action is ability to download pics and Vids on feed directly...

Interesting. Actually, it probably will come to Windows too, because yesterday, Instagram finally updated the app to include Stories. It might be slightly delayed though.
