Action Launcher celebrates its 5th anniversary with release of new update and sale

The one man behind the Android app Action Launcher, Chris Lacy recently announced that his app is celebrating 5 years since birth. A very good reason to celebrate in style with a new update and the first sale since 2014.

Action Launcher v32 isn't a major release, but it does come with a handful of new features and improvements that justifies its launch. For starters, all new installs of the app will now default to a Pixel Launcher 2 style appearance.

Also, some features like dock search box and Oreo style app shortcuts will no longer require the premium version of Action Launcher, which means users won't have to pay for them.

Furthermore, those who own smartphones powered by Android 8.1 should know that an Oreo-style banner displays in the settings requesting the Storage permissions, which will allow Action Launcher to access the phone's wallpaper for its Quicktheme feature.

Finally, Lacy announced that he continues to focus on performance and bug fixes, so users should expect the update to contain some boot time optimizations and a host of key bug fixes.

As far as the sale goes, if you want the premium version of the app, dubbed Action Launcher Plus, you can get it via Google Play Store for 30% off. Keep in mind though that the deal is only available until December 11.
