Back in June,
reliable source evleaks tweeted a picture of an Android device for AT&T coming from Chinese manufacturer ZTE. Not much was known about the phone except that it was expected to be a low to mid range model called the
ZTE Mustang. More than two months have passed and the phone is now listed on ZTE's website along with the specs, which confirms that this will
not be a top-shelf model.
The ZTE Mustang will feature a 4.5 inch screen with resolution of 540 x 960 (qHD). Under the hood is a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor with 1GB of RAM onboard. 4GB of native storage can be expanded by using the 32GB capacity microSD slot, and there is a 2070mAh battery powering the phone. The cameras on back and in front weigh in at 5MP and 1MP respectively and Android 4.1 is installed out of the box.
Even though there is a link on ZTE's site to buy the phone, it is not live and the site adds that the phone will be available via AT&T. Unfortunately, no pricing or date of availability are listed. We imagine that AT&T buyers won't have to dig too deeply into their pockets for this phone.
