64GB memory chip expected to be compatible with Windows Phone 7 Series?
If you thought that SanDisk's new 32GB microSD card was impressive, then you'll really be blown away with their new 64GB chip. Even though the price tag on the 32GB microSD card stands in at a whopping $199, it'll still be something that future Windows Phone 7 Series owners may miss – it's now known that the platform won't offer any expandable storage options; so you're stuck with what you get. During CTIA, SanDisk showcased their latest high-capacity portable memory that can hold a massive 64GB of data. The photo shows the 32GB microSD card on right while the new 64GB chip can be found on the left – which looks almost no different in size. With a maximum limit of 32GB that's expected out of microSD cards, the new 64GB chip can be implanted into a Windows Phone 7 Series device – as a matter of fact, it would enable just about any mobile phone to accommodate it. The media centric platform could surely benefit with this new kind of memory chip, but ultimately it'll come down to affordability and total cost.
