10 great images captured with smartphones #98

We're back with the 98th post in our special photographic-centric series where we present you with a number of awesome images taken by... well, you (and your cell phones).

So, which picture did you like most last time? The answer is Josue Silva's photo, taken with the Nokia Lumia 1020. And a pretty well-deserved first place it is, we should say!

Of course, there are many other incredible images left to be seen. Let's continue with another set of 10 pics, each of which can easily convince even the most professionally-inclined photographer that cell phones are more than a toy in the camera department.

Please note that if your own awesome image is not included here, this doesn't mean that it won't end up on the site. We simply might not have gotten to it yet! So, we urge you to continue following us, as we'll be publishing more of these truly great photos in the following days and weeks.

We'd also like to remind you that you can continue submitting your cool cell phone pics to the following email address:

In order to not miss on all the glory, you also have to mention your name/nickname, as well as the phone you used to take the shots. A nice additional piece of info would be a name or a short description for the image.

With that, we now leave you with our 98th set of favorite photos...

its not about nokia 808, its about the photo and the moment it was captured... in this shoot out all photos are great, except the moment of number 9 is special

I like 2 and 7 a lot, but had to go with 9. A lightning shot with a digital camera is easy. With a cell phone though, that's nearly impossible.

I voted for 9, but does pureview (not android OS) have the capabilities like 1. Long Exposure (Slow shutter or Manually controlling shutter speed) 2. ISO Controls 3. Intervalometer to get the correct exposure at the time of lightning strike If these things are there, then I must say, Pureview 808 can be the perfect replacement for a DSLR!!! Finally, I dont think its clicked from a phone (PA should check the exif data)

Hello everyone, I am an author of the picture number 9. First of all, thank you for all your positive comments, it took me many shots to get this one. I don't know if it's usual for author to comment on his picture in comment section, but I'm here to clarify some things. First of all, there was no Photoshop or any other similar software involved in making this picture. It was not edited in any way, and this is just the picture that came of the sensor. It is however cropped from full size 34 MPix shot, and the crop was done on the phone I think, I can't remember. Thats the reason why Mr Bernoulli commented that there is pixelation present, simply because it's a crop. Mr arjunezdaz asked about the camera control on N808. Well N808 have ISO controls, and can do long exposures, it's just kinda tricky to do cause it doesn't have full manual shutter speed control. Yes, I agree exif data should be checked, but Phone Arena team wouldn't post the image here if the exif was wrong. Sorry, I can't post link to the full res 8 MPix crop, because of 7 days rule, I'll be back in 7 days to post the link. Thank you all! Bye!
