iPhone attachment adds 14-megapixel camera and a better flash, launches November 28
As we said in our iPhone 5 review, Apple's latest and greatest smartphone is well capable of taking great photos with its 8-megapixel camera. Those who wish to take their iPhone photography to an even higher level, however, will be able to do so with this peculiar add-on.

Popular artist and entrepreneur will.i.am announced the upcoming launch of his i.am+ gadget lineup, and the first item to see the light of day will be an iPhone accessory. Basically, the gizmo is a dedicated 14-megapixel camera equipped with its own image sensor, optics, flash, and what seems to be a dedicated shutter key.

No further details about the hardware have been revealed yet, but will.i.am promises that his attachment will "turn your smartphone into a genius-phone". Both the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4 will be compatible with the i.am+ camera, so we presume that an iPhone 4S will work with it as well.

Interested in getting one already? Well, if you live near London you'll be able to buy the add-on at Selfridges, where it will be sold starting November 28. Pricing has not been disclosed, but chances are that the i.am+ camera won't come cheap.

Why not just attach the PureView 808 and then you'll have great camera on your phone...

Well you can't downgrade a superior OS, so your answer is no.

Widgets
1080p screens
Customization without jail breaking
ROM support from xda ------ Best one
More free apps
Replaceable batteries

And as for why iOS sucks, it's so damn closed that someone who dished out money for it can't customize it to their likings without voiding their warranty. The OS has been stale for 2 years now. What are the biggest improvements from iOS 4 to iOS 6? Don't say wallpapers, because a Motorola flip phone had that capability since 2002.

File Manager
Widgets
Better Multitasking
Better customization (Different ROMs)

And that's about it.

One advantage I have to admit about the iphone is that since it's a status symbol, it has the best accessories.

So what you're saying is: the iPhone 5 REALLY has a sub par camera and there is great room for improvement. Let's see, here's just a minor list of "attachments" or iPeripherals to complete the incomplete:

1. Separate camera "attachment" to take better pictures because the stock camera doesn't quite cut it (although, it takes "greeeaatt!" purple photos).
2. Separate battery "attachment" aka Mophie Case because the standard stock battery has incomplete mAh.
3. Separate speaker "attachment" for "better" sound.
4. Separate computer to sync Apple Store content and media content.
5. Separate Wi-Fi Wireless Router or Mobile Hotspot "attachment" because everything is relegated to Wi-Fi.

6. Separate iSuitcase "attachment" to carry everything because there's NO MORE ROOM in my gym bag.

im sorry but purple pics...hmm like the nexus 4 right? if your gonna slate one slate all with the same problem

second that ''sub par'' camera is better then most android camera's like the gs3. so your saying all phones android phones also have sub par camera's

your no longer funny, actually doubt your were ever funny. your just hating as the iphone which ever way you look at it always is centre of attention for gadgets and accessories like this

so that extra battery pack for the gs3 must mean the gs3 's battery is weak and pathetic right?

My dear lady, you've completely miSiNferred my statement; I said nothing about the GS3. In fact, of all the GS3 devices I have tested, the number of GS3's needing an external camera "attachment" attached to take better photos is ∅.

Please don't be so iDefensive as, it's most unbecoming [of a lady]…

do you work hard to be unfunny or does it come naturally?

no you said nothing about the gs3 as your trying to be ''cool'' slating the iphone and hoing all your android fanboys will pat you on the back, even though slating the iphones camera also means the gs3 has a sub par camara. and in many tests is worse then the iphones in terms of camera

and putting the letter ''i'' infront of words is so tragic. im sure you think your funny but honestly your not and anyone telling you to carry on with it arent looking out for you there ( like everyone else) are laughing at you not with you

so maybe go play with your blocks little boy

ohh im sorry i should put it so you will understand

go play with your iblocks

i saw no mention in his comment comparing it to android. so you decide to bring up purple pictures on the nexus 4..... i've seen only one for the nexus 4 that was very poor quality taken in a tight space with alot of unnecessary lighting. as opposed to the many i've seen from the iPhone with all sorts of ppl being able to recreate them.

as for the article it's sad to have to attach a separate camera to your phone just to get it to work the way you want. and if that wasn't bad enough you have to buy it from a douchebag like will.i.am! accessories are cases, batteries, screen protectors, stylus, chargers or things like that. this shouldn't be considered an accessory since it tries to modifies the actual hardware. proving that some ppl buy this phone only for the status symbol it is but can't live with what they pay for. why not just buy a phone that does what you want in the first place?

I do not understand what you are whining all about. The fact is no phone work the way I want it to work, because I want my phone to work like a DSLR. So if there is an attachment or accessory that can make it work like that I don't see anything wrong with that or how this make the phone worse than other phones. I guarantee if they had come out with an accessory lie that for the galaxy S3 or any android phone that you like, you would be singing a different tune. Do not be a hater, be a fan of technology.

thank you, exactly what i mean, anything for the iphone and its time to slate it...for android its amazing......getting old fast

and sadly there arent many fans of tech on here as you can see...just fanboys of android

sad for will.i.am i wouldn't even pay to have him erased off the face of the earth much less pay for this even if it worked with my one s. i would however piss on his grave...i don't hate technology. i merely hate the fact that a fcktard like him can pull something out of his @$$ n the masses buy it up without question. ppl buy this crap just to be part of the in crowd, whether it works or not. as for what i put on my phone, i put cheap cases n screen protectors. most i've ever bought is a$30 hand stylus :-) my phone is basic i txt, call, snap random boring pix n make the occasional video call. i don't need fancy "add ons" to make my phone work right.

its not about making it work right, its about adding and increasing what you can do with your phone. besides just because you dont want this doesnt mean others dont. if your so against accessories why are you on this article about an attachment your not interested in?

you sound full of hate for no reason and as for part of the in crowd, this attachment isnt for the crowds, it would only attract those needing more from the camera.

if your happy with your basic phone fine but you cant judge others that want to expand the features on there phones
