At a press conference called by Vivo today, the company introduced the Vivo Xplay 6. The handset sports a dual-curved edge screen measuring 5.46-inches with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. Under the hood you will find a Snapdragon 820 chipset with a quad-core CPU, and the Adreno 530 GPU. 6GB of RAM is inside along with 128GB of internal storage.

The Xplay 6 does feature a dual-camera set up on back. A 12MP camera comes with a Sony IMX362 sensor, 4-axis OIS, and an aperture of f/1.7. Thanks to the rear-facing 5MP snapper, users can achieve a depth-of-field effect with the phone. A 16MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video chats. A 4080mAh battery comes with a rapid charging system. Even with such a large capacity power source, the phone measures just 5.2mm thick.

The Vivo Xplay 6 will go on sale via Vivo's retail and online channels starting on December 12th. It is priced at the equivalent of $655 USD.

Phone looks gorgeous in black. Great specs BTW. Very slim but with a huge battery and knowing funtouch os, that battery will last a long time. Hope the speaker or speakers are stereo like the Xplay3S. The sound quality from Vivo phones are some of the very best.

Because you always look at them and browse at net. Familiarity is coming closer to you that's why curved displays are losing the wow effect on you.

If they placed the battery near the curved edge, thar will be a problem. And at 5.2mm thick, I'm expecting this to be vulnerable to pressure with people who put their phones at their back pocket.

Actually, the phone measures 8.4 mm in thickness overall. Only the frame where the curved display is placed, measures 5.92 mm
